Ingredients

Scale

1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice

1/2 ounce Cointreau

1 1/2 ounces vodka

1 ounce prune juice

2 ounces pomegranate juice

Optional garnishes: red sanding sugar for the rim of the glass, lime wedge, a whole prune, 8 wild rice grains, 2 maraschino cherries, red edible glitter, dry ice

Instructions

To make a Black Widow Prune Garnish:

Place one whole maraschino cherry on a cocktail pick, followed by one prune. Add the grains of wild rice, like spider legs, four on each side of the prune. Cut a small triangle from the remaining cherry and place it in the center of the prune where the indentation is so that it nestles in place. Spray with red edible glitter if using.

To Make A Dark Cosmo:

If rimming the glass with sanding sugar, run a lime wedge around the lip of the glass, then invert the glass into a small plate filled with the red sanding sugar. The sugar will adhere to the rim of the glass as you twist the glass and turn it on the plate. Add one small 1 and 1.5-inch piece of dry ice to the bottom of the glass, then fill the rest of the way with regular ice. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the lime juice, Cointreau, vodka, prune juice, and pomegranate juice. Shake vigorously to combine. Strain over ice into the glass. Garnish with a black widow prune and serve immediately.
