This Mess Is Ours
When the weather starts to heat up, I like to put my favorite flavor combination of apples and ginger on ice with this super easy Apple Ginger Sangria Recipe!
– riesling or pinot grigio – 1 Stemilt Piñata Apple – 1 Stemilt Granny Smith Apple – brut champagne – ginger beer – To garnish: thin slices of apple, cinnamon sticks, star anise, ice cubes
Ingredients
Sangria recipes are generally pretty basic: combine a fruity wine, chopped fruit, a squeeze of something bright and a spritz of something fizzy. Let it all mix and mingle together then serve.
Shred apples in a food processor with the shredding disc (or julienne to achieve desired effect). Pour riesling into a large pitcher and stir in the shredded apples.
Place in the refrigerator and allow to sit for at least 2 hours and up to 24 hours. Strain out the shredded apples then add lemon juice, champagne or sparkling wine, and ginger beer.
Stir to combine. Add thin slices of apple, cinnamon sticks, and star anise to garnish.
This crowd pleaser is perfect for summer because it's super easy to prepare in advance. Plus, having pitchers of drinks ready to go when company arrives will ensure that you are able to mingle and enjoy a few drinks with your company too.
