I love everything about this time of year…the slight chill in the air after dark, all of my favorite foods are in season and we can decorate our entire house with gourds, pumpkins and ginormous odd shaped squash and no one even flinches. It’s ahhhhhhmaaaazing!!!

Every Halloween Todd and I whip up a signature cocktail that we sip on while the kids go through their loot from trick or treating and this year will be no exception!

This pumpkin spice infused twist on a traditional Dark and Stormy has got to be one of my favorite cocktails of ALL time. Pure magic for the taste buds!

If you don’t have homemade pumpkin butter on hand you can buy it at the store in teh jam and jelly section. Trader Joe’s pumpkin butter is our favorite.

  1. In a small glass combine the pumpkin butter, orange juice and rum. Stir to combine and set aside.
  2. Rub the orange peel around the rim of a high ball glass filled with ice. Add the peel to the glass then pour the pumpkin butter mixture over the top. Add ginger beer to fill the glass and stir. Serve immediately.

  1. This sounds like a dangerous drink. You know, the kind where you down one in a matter of minutes and demand a second one and then, before you know it, you are in your kid’s costume knocking on doors, searching for candy 😉

I got some of the carrot cake butter, too. Wondering how to do a cocktail with it… perhaps you will get inspired and share a recipe! We will be having pumpkin dark and stormys tomorrow.
