Sometimes in our lives we get to visit places and meet people that are truly humbling; this church, the Aegidienkirche, is one of those places. Built in the 14th Century the church stood strong & tall until 1943 when it was destroyed by bombs in the air raids on Hannover . The church was never rebuilt; instead its ruins now serve as a memorial to the victims of war and violence.
