    Living in California for 8 years turned me into a pretty hard core, fresh pressed juice aficionado. Over the years, I have developed an arsenal of juices I can make at home with my juicer OR my blender. Some are just for enjoying, some are sneakily packed with veggies and frozen into popsicle form.  But you know when I pair carrot with orange juice, I mean business!

    When we are under the weather we have one tried and true go-to recipe - and that's my carrot with orange juice Immune Booster. Every sip of this juice is packed with some of my favorite California Grown produce, Cara Cara oranges, carrots, apples, ginger, and lime to help nourish our bodies and give our immune systems a BOOST during cold and flu season!

    {{ The recipe for this Immune Boost Juice and the post that goes with it was made in partnership with California Grown! We received compensation and product in exchange for it. Opinions are always our own. If we don’t love it, you don’t hear about it. Thanks for your continued support! }}

    What makes my Immune Boost Juice so good for us? I'm glad you asked! Let's talk about it....

    Cara Cara Oranges || This seedless orange has reddish-pink flesh and a sweet yet tangy flavor similar to cranberries, strawberries and raspberries. They are actually my all-time favorite orange, but since they don't have a long growing season you can't always find them. In a pinch you can totally use their cousin the Navel orange instead. As I am sure you know oranges are LOADED with vitamin C, but they are also rich with antioxidants!

    Carrots || Carrots are definitely to thank for the gorgeous orange hue of this immune boost juice, but my kids would probably bet there aren't any veggies involved in this heavenly sip. Let's face it, when kids are under the weather their appetites go right out the window and if you are like me you're left scrambling for a way to inject their little bodies with as many veggies as possible. In my experience, they will always go for juice when they are sick so why not load it up with veggies?!

    A bowl of citrus wit the peels removed, sliced apples, peeled ginger, chop-red carrots, and lime are on a table next to houseplants

    Fuji Apples ||Apples are also loaded with vitamin C and they give this juice a deliciously sweet flavor boost! Apples also contain pectin, a type of fiber that acts as a prebiotic. This means it feeds the good bacteria in your gut, which is essential to replenish when you are sick!

    Ginger || Ahhh ginger, my favorite kitchen apothecary ingredient! I keep fresh ginger on hand at all times for immune boosting juice shots, upset tummies,  and for homemade ginger and lemon tea for sore throats. It's a SUPER STAR in this juice giving it just a little bit of heat at the finish of each sip!

    Lime || I always add a squeeze of lemon or lime to all of my juices. But, I chose lime for my Immune Boost Juice because they reduce inflammation and improve digestion - all important things for when you are under the weather.

    Look, you definitely don't have to be under the weather to enjoy a tall glass of this carrot with orange juice. Heck, I drink it on an almost daily basis, because it tastes amazing and makes me feel great!

    Worried about needing special equipment to make this Immune Boost Juice? Don't be!

    It doesn't take much to make fresh pressed juice at home, but you will definitely need either a juicer like mine or you can use a high powered blender, you will just need to strain the juice through a sieve lined with cheesecloth or a nut milk bag before you drink it.

      I was gifted a juicer for Christmas and used this recipe for my first try of my new "toy". It is so yummy that I wish I had made a double or triple recipe. I could easily see myself drinking it every day. It is sweet, but not too much. I need more of your juicing recipes. This was fantastic!! I wish I could add a picture to this comment.
