25 Gluten Free Mom + Toddler Approved Traveling Snacks

This summer is full of traveling for us. Whether it be a day trip or one of our cross country treks, I am always looking for healthy, delicious snacks to take on the road with us.

This week, the fruit bandit and I have decided to take a cross country flight back to visit family and friends. I am both nervous and excited to travel with him alone. Being a typical 3 year old, there is a lot of inpatient moments and the desire to be independent and do everything himself coupled with the need to still snuggle and trade copious amounts of kisses with me at any given time.

Try these delicious and easy snacks for your next road trip.

So, seeing as how he is "Mr. Independent" and likes to do it all himself, the fruit bandit received his own snack bag in his backpack this trip. His bag was packed with everything from fresh and dried fruit to yogurt covered goji berries, a homemade trail mix from my friend Sabrina, and of course a few treats as rewards. Of course no trip would be complete without fresh baked chocolate chip cookies! Thanks to our wonderful friends at Cappello's for sending a few tubes of their amazing gluten free cookie dough for our travels. I think we are all set for a tasty flight! Wish us luck.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What should I eat while driving long distance?

It is always good to have relatively healthy snacks while on a long trip. Leave out the candy and soft drinks, and try something with protein, like nuts.

What are good on the go snacks?

Trail mix is a great idea for a snack while traveling. It has protein-filled nuts and healthy dried fruit to keep you full so you're not eating fast food and candy bars on a whim.
